Did you know that approx. 43% of the Danish population lack vitamin D? This is mainly because we Danes neither get enough sun nor eat enough fatty fish.

Vitamin D3 from Green Vitamins
Green Vitamins offer three different strengths of vitamin D3, respectively. 35 mcg, 50 mcg vegan and 90 mcg, so that every need can be met. Vitamin D3 in all variants is cholecalciferol dissolved in olive oil, for better absorption. 

What is Vitamin D?
Vitamin D3 is also called the "sunshine vitamin", as the sun's rays cause the skin to convert cholesterol into Vitamin D3, and as the Danish weather is not always so sunny, we often do not get enough to cover our vitamin D3 needs.

Another source of Vitamin D3 is oily fish. Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means that D3 is stored in fat tissue. This also means that vitamin D3 is absorbed best if it is dissolved in fat, e.g. olive oil. That is precisely why D3 from Green Vitamins contains olive oil.

How does Vitamin D work?
Vitamin D3 is one of the most important vitamins that maintains our immune system. At the same time, vitamin D3 also ensures that an appropriate calcium-phosphorus balance is maintained in the blood and promotes the formation of bone tissue by helping the body absorb calcium.

Vitamin D3 also contributes to maintaining:

• teeth and bones
• the immune system
• normal cell division
• normal calcium level in the blood
• the uptake of calcium and phosphorus
