Berthelsen Selen is a vegan dietary supplement with natural, organically bound and easily absorbable mineral-based selenium yeast (LYNSIDE Forte SE+ 2000) with a stable content of L-selenium methionine.

What is Selenium?
Selenium is an essential mineral, which is also one of the body's strongest antioxidants, as selenium is part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), which protects the cell membranes against free oxygen radicals and thus against oxidative stress.

What effect does selenium have?
In addition to maintaining the nails, the harness contributes to the following:

• maintenance of hair and nails
• normal sperm production
• maintenance of the immune system
• maintenance of normal thyroid function
• to protect cells from oxidative stress

How do you know if you are deficient in selenium?
The body cannot produce selenium on its own, and it must therefore be supplied through the diet. The soil in the Nordic region is very low in selenium, and therefore many people lack selenium. It can, among other things, revealed through your nails. The selenium we consume is mainly used as an antioxidant and for the maintenance of the body's immune system, as these processes take precedence over the body's stores of nutrients. The nails must make do with the remains, if there is enough selenium present. Therefore, weak nails can often be a sign that your daily diet contains too few minerals and nutrients.
