Green Vitamins' Nascorbate
Nascorbate from Green Vitamins is an acid-neutral vitamin C in the form of sodium ascorbate. Sodium ascorbate is a mineral salt of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and sodium. When sodium ascorbate enters the stomach, it is converted to L-ascorbic acid, which is vitamin C.
If you therefore have a tendency towards too acidic stomach acid or gastrointestinal problems, it is a good idea to eat sodium ascorbate as a source of vitamin C, as sodium ascorbate is pH-neutral and does not add more acid to the stomach, as a supplement of pure L- ascorbic acid would do.
What effect does vitamin C have?
Vitamin C is important as it contributes to:
- reduce fatigue and exhaustion
- protect the cells against oxidative stress
- maintain a normal energy metabolism
- maintain the nervous system
- maintain normal psychological function
- form collagen, which is important for normally functioning blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth
