KalkBalance+ is a combination of easily absorbable and bioactive bone calcium from Aquamin®, 2 strong sources of magnesium, plant-based vitamin D3 from lichen moss extract as well as vitamin K2 and 72 trace minerals from Aquamin® (see more below).
The maintenance of our bone matrix is dependent on both calcium and magnesium. Several studies show that magnesium helps the body's osteoblasts, which are the bone-forming cells, which maintains healthy bone formation. Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb the necessary calcium, and vitamin K2 ensures that the body's calcium is deposited correctly in our bones and not in our blood vessels. We use a K2 based on the bacterial culture Bacillus subtilis (natto), so it therefore does not contain soya proteins or other traces from soya.

Berthelsen KalkBalance+ is an effective calcium tablet that contains the new bioactive bone mineral Aquamin®, magnesium from 2 sources, vegan vitamin D3 from lichen and vitamin K2 (MK-7). This combination is necessary to maintain and care for the body's bones effectively, as all 4 active ingredients are interdependent, to achieve the best result and keep the body's calcium level in balance.
The bioactive and easily absorbable Aquamin® calcium and magnesium are added in a ratio of 2:1. Magnesium is extremely important in relation to your calcium intake, as magnesium regulates the distribution of calcium in the body's cells and provides calcium to the bone cells, while the calcium content in softer tissues, such as Muscle cells, blood vessels, skin cells and connective tissue are allocated far less calcium.
In addition, studies show that magnesium embedded in the bone matrix helps the body's osteoblasts to form new bone cells. Vitamin D3 ensures optimal absorption of the calcium, and vitamin K2 activates the protein osteocalcin, which ensures that the calcium is deposited in the bones and not in the blood vessels.
What is Aquamin®?
Aquamin® is a unique marine multimineral complex, which is extracted from the red algae Lithothamnion calcareum.
Aquamin® contains bioactive calcium, magnesium and 72 other trace minerals. The many trace minerals in Aquamin® are all building blocks for the body's many functions, and must be supplied from the outside, as the body cannot produce minerals itself. Aquamin® is thus ideal for this purpose.
