What is Manganese?
Manganese is a vital trace mineral that is found in all cell nuclei and mitochondria, and like both zinc and copper, is part of the SOD enzyme (SuperOxidDismutase). Therefore, manganese actually indirectly has an antioxidant effect.

What functions does manganese have?
Manganese is an often overlooked mineral that is important for our natural formation of normal connective tissue. Especially manganese's activation of the enzymes glycosyltransferases and xylosyltransferases are important for proteoglycan synthesis, which is the turnover and utilization of proteins bound to glycosaminoglycan.
