Berthelsen Senior is a vegan multivitamin which contains 12 vitamins, 9 minerals and the 3 herbs ginger, rose hip and green coffee. Berthelsen Senior contains organic minerals, i.a. Magnesium citrate, zinc citrate and selenium yeast with L-selenium methionine.
Berthelsen Senior has been specially developed for seniors with extra need for vitamin D3 and B12 and therefore contains 500 mcg of B12, which seniors often fall short of, as the absorption of Vitamin B12 weakens with age.
Magnesium citrate and Vitamin D3 both maintain muscle function, and vitamin D3 reduces fall injuries resulting from instability, balance problems and muscle weakness, which can occur in the elderly who are deficient in vitamin D. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 20 µg vitamin D. Vitamin D3 also reduces balance difficulties and muscle weakness.
Ginger relieves morning stiffness and maintains joint mobility and rose hips are a natural source of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps maintain a normal immune system and the formation of collagen, which is important for normal skin.
The combination of vitamins, minerals and herbs in Senior contributes, among other things, to to:
- Vitamin A: maintenance of vision, skin, hair and mucous membranes
- Folic acid: normal cell division, psychological functions, reduces fatigue and exhaustion
- Vitamin C: maintenance of the immune system
